Punk rock band The Clash were formed in 1976, as well as punk, the band pulled inspiration from reggae, funk, ska and rockabilly. By the time the band disbanded in 1986 they had left an indelible mark on the British and World music scene.
The Clash recorded five studio albums, their self titled album debut in 1977 was a massive success in the UK. Worldwide success would follow with their third album, London calling, breaking the USA and achieving huge sales across the globe with Rolling Stones Magazine naming it the best album of the 1980s.
